my computer cannot recognize my ipod nano what do i do???
hello
i just got my ipod nano 8gb 3rd generation...
i did what the manual told me to and connected the ipod to my computer with the USB cord.... it said that it malfunctioned and that it couldnt be recognised...
they recommended me to try again (plugging in the cord, which i have done numerous times) or replace the USB device...
what do i do?
do i have to install itunes first in order to get the ipod to work?
plz tell me what to do...

Yes install iTunes first so that the ipod can be detected. The only program that can pick up the nano is iTunes. Install iTunes first and see how that fixes your problem.
